While most gamers prefer headphones to speakers, whether for gaming, listening to music, or watching videos or movies, that doesn't mean there aren't sound systems that allow you to enjoy an immersive experience with quality sound.

This time, thanks to Genesis, we've had the opportunity to test these Helium 610 BT speakers again. The Helium 610BT is a fairly sturdy set of two speakers and a large subwoofer. They feature a black wooden construction, enhanced by red elements, especially the speaker diaphragms and the manufacturer's logo on both satellites. Also included is a freely attachable dock that serves to control the volume and connect the input or output via a 3,5" connector.

Features

The first and perhaps most important feature of the product is that it consists of three parts (four to be precise, but more on that later): two tweeters and a subwoofer. The two tweeters measure 120 x 185 x 120 mm, while the subwoofer measures 260 x 250 x 255 mm.

Setup is extremely simple, with no software required, but for those who struggle, the manufacturer has included a manual. I mentioned earlier that the Helium 610 has four parts, as it comes with a wired remote control panel that lets you control the volume. It also has an AUX input and a headphone output so you can connect additional devices.

The subwoofer also includes volume control, a bass booster, speaker inputs, a Bluetooth switch (version 4.2), and an ECO function that activates when you're not using them. Yes, one of the strong points of these Helium 610BTs is that they also have wireless connectivity, and pairing is also extremely simple.

Speaker pairing is immediate and works without any issues. However, wireless transmission uses the SBC codec and lacks support for more advanced systems like aptX.

sound experience

We were pleasantly surprised by the sound, especially the subwoofer, whose modulation via the intensity control creates a very accomplished and high-quality sound. The sound is solid, the treble is extremely clear, and the bass is excellent and undistorted. For gaming, music, and movies, they provide a complete experience, with more than enough volume for all uses.

Given the subwoofer's size, it might be a good idea to place it under your desk, which unfortunately makes it quite difficult to access the controls, especially the on/off switch. These days, we're slowly getting used to remote controls, even for sound bars and speakers.

You can also easily adjust the volume on the external base and simply connect headphones and a microphone through it.

Conclusions

In short, the Genesis Helium 610 BT is a good choice for gaming, listening to music, and watching movies. Both the sound quality and power are adequate for everyday needs, but they might even add a little extra. Wireless connectivity gives you much more freedom, although you can also opt for the non-Bluetooth version and save some money.

As for things to improve, they don't have an optical audio jack, for example, or more accessible controls beyond the subwoofer, but otherwise it's a very interesting option and they do their job.
